Stringed Instrument Grants
Bridging the Funding Gap
Studies show that kids who play a stringed instrument
- score higher on standardized tests,
- enjoy more parent involvement at school,
- require less discipline.
And yet school music programs, especially strings programs, remain vulnerable to school budget cuts. Classics for Kids Foundation aims to bridge the funding gap and enhance school music programs by providing matching grants for stringed instruments.
Quality Stringed Instruments
CFKF emphasizes and provides high quality instruments because they (are):
- Easier to Play,
- Sound Better,
- Last for decades,
- Inspire practice, and
- Nurture playing at a New Level.

Community Support & Connections
While strengthening music programs across the country, we also hope to strengthen community support for music education. We view grantees as partners in the long-term development of their programs and ours. For an example of a California community that created a stringed instrument program with incredible results for students and the community, visit Redding Initiative.
Grant Application
If your school or non-profit organization believes in the value of a fine instrument, has garnered support from the community, can show evidence of need and is committed to raising matching funds, you are a strong candidate for the Classics for Kids matching grant program.
