Celebrate the Arts: free community concert series

In March of 2009, CFKF presented renowned pianist Phil Aaberg in the historic Ellen Theatre in downtown Bozeman, Montana. CFKF sponsored the event in an effort to give young people access to accomplished music so that they may become inspired to make their own. Philip Aaberg has appeared with Peter Gabriel, Elvin Bishop, and the Doobie Brothers. He has cut eight solo albums, one of which, Live From Montana, received a 2002 Grammy nomination. As a guest artist, Aaberg has performed on over 200 albums and on PBS’s All-American Jazz, which earned him an Emmy nomination.  After the concert, nationally recognized painter Clyde Aspevig drew the winning ticket for his painting “Water Lilies” (see below).

Fine Art Auction

In 2009, famed artist Clyde Aspevig generously donated another gorgeous painting in support of Classics for Kids Foundation.  The raffle generated nearly $20,000 for the foundation and will help kids explore the joy of music for years to come.  We at Classics for Kids are extremely grateful to Clyde!
