Mentoring

CFKF's Executive/Artistic Director Michael Reynolds has been mentoring young musicians since CFKF's inception. While our mentoring program is still "under construction", we are committed to the role of mentoring in support of kids and their teachers.

Who benefits from the CKFK mentoring program?

  • Students in need of more advanced instruction
  • Music teachers needing rejuvenation and professional development
  • Entire music programs can be inspired by the performance of a renowned musician

Each community has specific needs related to mentoring, and Classics for Kids Foundation is developing funding programs that will share mentors and mentoring ideas to assist music programs in a variety of ways.

We will keep you posted here about our mentoring program's progress toward grants in 2012.

"Mike,
Your mentoring visit on Monday was incredible! ...  Rarely have I seen so attentive and interested a group of students.  They hung on your every word.

It was apparent from the results you achieved that they wanted to learn, and that they took your words to heart.  I'm sure that years from now they will look back on those moments with fond memories... You are an extraordinary teacher, and we feel very lucky and fortunate to have been able to schedule your visit."
